This rather long piece on the merits and otherwise of email / internet is
quite useful, the main question I'd like to ask is has anyone thought of
printing it off and using it as a master copy for distribution to the large
numbers of people (activists included) who won't have been able to read it
as it was sent electronically?

Surely that is a way of finding some middle ground between the technophiles
and techno-luddites.

What the internet / email allows is for someone to produce a document and
make it available for anyone who thinks it's worth wider distribution to run
off a master and use this to produce a quantity of paper copies to be
circulated by more traditional means outside of control of the state, and
around the world at speeds which were not possible a few years ago.

Basically it's a tool, like a hammer or screwdriver, you can use them for
something constructive and worthwhile, or do a Peter Sutcliffe with them.
It's not the tool but how you use it that's either selfish and futile or
socially positive.

Rory.
