The UK has the choice to remain GM-free.
The GM trials are coming to a close. There will be a public consultation on
whether to proceed with the commercial planting of GM in Britain. Currently
in the planning stages, the government has set up a steering group to
oversee the public debate. These steering group meetings are open to the
public to observe. The next steering group meeting is on 20 November, 2.30-
5.00pm at the Institute of Civil Engineers, 1 Great George Street, London
(nearest tube Westminster).
