Hi all,
Looks like an ideal chance to show eco-projects and intentional
communities/cohousing in a positive light here.
With a bit of culture-clash humour ;-)
Please read the detailed notes from the director at the bottom if you're
interested and please do pass on.

I’m preparing a series for ITV where we will be observing how family
lifestyles differ, looking at attitudes, beliefs and ways of life around
the country. In each show, two families will live each other’s life for
a week. They will swap jobs and homes and take their partner and/or
family along to live another life for a week where their impressions
recorded.
The programme will challenge preconceptions and stereotypes that so many
people have of the unknown and hopefully open minds in the process.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in taking part in the
programme please contact me and/or pass on my details, filming will take
place at the end of August for a week.
I look forward to hearing from you
Many Thanks

Our production company is Granada and on this occasion we are making a
show for ITV1. The show I have just finished making for ITV1 is called
Transformed and will air on August 8th at 9pm. It features three men
who agree to go away to a centre for 10 days to work with experts in an
effort to improve their marriages. We then filmed them back home to see
if they were able to put what they had learnt into practice. In all
three cases there were significant transformations and much happier
wives! I’m unable to send you a copy as it has not yet been aired, but
if we get the opportunity to meet any members of the Eco-Village Network
I am more than happy to take along a copy with me to show them in
person. There are two other shows in the series - one looks at
teenagers with behavioural problems and the other looks at children with
weight problems.
We're making an aspirational show that will fairly represent everybody
in it. The man who takes his family to live and work in an eco-village
would be expected to embrace this change of lifestyle. It is my hope
that it would open his eyes to a different way of life and the values
that come with it. For people already living in the eco-village it
would be a platform to promote their way of life to the wider public.
One would hope that it would prompt some viewers to take steps to
towards sustainability themselves. Finally, for the family from an
eco-village temporarily inhabiting a new world themselves, the
experience would challenge but no doubt reinforce their beliefs and life
choices, while perhaps also broadening their outlook on life.
Finally - reimbursement. As we are making a documentary, we do not pay
contributor fees. Nobody taking part in this should do so because they
are hoping to get rich! However, we would not expect anybody to be
financially worse off for taking part and we could certainly look into
some form of compensation for any loss of earnings and perhaps a modest
donation to the eco-village itself.
I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate in contact me with any
further questions.
Kind regards,
Matt Calais
