The West Country Scythe Festival
and Mowing Competition

A family event celebrating the scythe, hand-mowing and reaping.

With Peter Vido, author of The Scythe Book.
Peter and his family scythe up to 30 acres every year on their farm in Canada.

Events include
    * all Britain mowing competition* scythe versus strimmer race
    * lawn-mowing with scythes * horse drawn hay-turning
    * instruction in mowing, sharpening and scythe maintenance
    * historical exhibition * talks and seminars
    * sale of scythes and ancillary equipment * tool and craft stalls
    * live music * local organic food and drink
    * cart rides,swing boats and other children's activities
