Dear Friend of LSF
http://www.lowershawfarm.co.uk/

Without any pressure or persuasion from us but lots of letters and calls
from wonderful people (possibly you x) who like LSF, the Swindon
Advertiser has decided to mount a HANDS OFF LSF campaign. Bless them.

Voting Online: we think this is open to corruption, as there are ways
of putting many votes in from the same computer, by clearing the
Temporary Internet files and cookies, and refreshing the page.
Apparently the newspaper is looking into this, and has already
discovered the 'no' people have done it in quite a big way!

THE Swindon Advertiser is calling on Swindon Council to think again
about plans to sell off Lower Shaw Farm.
http://www.adver.co.uk/news/swindoncampaigns/lowershaw/

Three weeks ago the town was stunned when the council announced it
wanted to sell the farm for housing to make £2m.

Next week at a full meeting of the council, a motion will be put forward
calling on councillors to vote to support Lower Shaw Farm as a place to
provide education for the people of Swindon. If this is voted through,
it will become council policy and would send out a strong message to the
ruling Conservative cabinet.

So the Adver is asking the councillors to listen to the people of
Swindon and those from elsewhere who have shouted out their support for
the farm. It is a far greater asset to Swindon than the amount it
provides in annual rent. It is the centre for arts and education and has
helped place the Swindon Festival of Literature firmly on the map.

We want you to make your feelings known. Together, let's save Lower Shaw.

Make your voice heard. Email the newsdesk and tell us your views. Add
your name to our on-line petition here.
