Hi all,

One of the most critically important pieces of wildlife legislation --
Habitats Directive -- is being "reviewed" by EU mandarins.

Watering down its requirements would be extremely injurious to wildlife
protection across Europe.

For more info. on how to lobby the EU directly see the RSPB website --
<http://www.rspb.org.uk/joinandhelp/campaignwithus/defendnature/>

There's more background here in The Guardian --
<http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/may/12/100-british-conservation-groups-oppose-review-of-eu-wildlife-laws>

And the laughable attempts by the UK to water-down regulations are
detailed in this Guardian story from 2012 --
<http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2012/mar/22/conservation-business-review>

>From roads, to ports, to fracking, this important legislation prevents
the wholesale damage to the most important landscapes critical to
supporting wildlife. It's been on the 'hit list' for the European
business lobby for a while. Now it seems they've got their review, led
by the EU president.

Please forward and encourage others to participate --
this is really important!!
