Wooden houses (W H) are the way forward for Britain.
Drawing a line on wooden houses cabins bungalows…

UNLESS WE STOP BUILDING WITH POLLUTING CEMENT AND CONCRETE AND TILES
FAMILIES WILL NOT SURVIVE TO INHERIT EITHER BRICK OR WOODEN HOUSES.
SUPPLYING HOUSES BUILT OF WOOD BRINGS PURCHASE OR RENT WITHIN REACH OF ALL

Wooden houses (cabins sheds or bungalows) last (over) 100 years if well looked after
Wooden bungalows built in the India of the Raj still survive monsoons and summer heat.
Making bricks and cement is the world’s third most polluting industry
Planting trees for timber, in contrast, enhances the environment
Only high rise towers, need concrete. Cities are outdated in post industrial Britain
Building by Team self Build nationally can provide 100,000 jobs p.a. for girls and guys
Jobs will be spread out over the country wherever there is housing need
Oldies can downsize and down price into a wooden house selling off their brickie.
Oldies downsizing provide security for start up s-b team loans
Demand, and with it supply of new build brick houses will fall.
Joining a s-b team brings healthy fit oldies out of premature retirement (and off-pension?)
The price of the existing stock of houses will gradually stabilise as wooden h’s are built
The alternative is inevitable h price crashes disrupting national and domestic economies
Wooden houses round a village green with gardens and trees form a new green belt.
Building a wooden house, cost £40k plus £10,000? site cost and uses only basic D I Y skills.
Tradesmen ‘second fix’ and certificate services for w h’s as they do for brickies.
A national s-b W-H supply reduces rampant price inflation of existing stock of brick houses
The need to-day is for accessibly priced/rented houses and end erecting overpriced houses
Land for w-h sites needs a raft of tax, constitutional, motivational changes (see JA paper) -
-prosecuting unlawful landbanking monopolies, taxing land owners (not only house owners)
Government in a democracy addresses peoples’ needs , not out-of-control corporate greed.
Our land system is feudal and sooner, not later, needs liberalising .
Land in UK is controlled rewarding the national church, the monarchy, estate-farm owners Housing land is monopolised by Wimpey, Persimmon, Redrow..unlawfully but unprosecuted
Philanthropists Octavia Hill, Wm Morris, Peabody, Rowntree…provided good h’s at low cost David Mills RIP sold for £120k a St Minver* farm acre for twelve houses (foregoing £2m?)
Sellers of land should share the inflated value with house needy people willing to self build.
Governments need to abandon rising house prices as the driver of consumerism and growth
(a further paper advocates land policies, Wealth tax, land value tax, planning for low cost h…
