30,000 people sustained major injuries in 2008/9.

 

There is a crisis in the enforcement of workplace safety regulations.  H&S
reps face victimisation and blacklisting when they try to fill the
enforcement gaps left by lack of HSE inspections.

 

Professors Steve Tombs and David Whyte reveal their hitherto unpublished
findings, generated by Freedom of information requests, on the crisis in
health and safety enforcement.
