Sorry for any cross postings but IER are supporting this TUC backed
initiative and would encourage all supporters to email
<http://www.unitedcampaign.org.uk/bill.php> their MP asking them to support
the Bill on 22nd October. We have received notification that over half the
required number of MPs (100) have stated their intention to stay in
Parliament on Friday 22nd October. Make sure your MP is one of them.

 <http://www.unitedcampaign.org.uk/sitebody/events/rally2010.html> Event -
demonstration, rally and lobby of parliament - 13th October 2010Supporters
of John McDonnells Lawful Industrial Action (Minor Errors) Bill will lobby
Parliament on Wednesday 13 October

Supporters of John McDonnell's Lawful
<http://www.unitedcampaign.org.uk/bill.php>  Industrial Action (Minor
Errors) Bill will be in Parliament on Wednesday to lobby their MPs and ask
them to support the Bill on the 22 October. Please join them!

The Bill has received widespread backing from the trade union movement after
a motion in support of the Bill was passed unanimously by the TUC Congress
in September. Lobby your MP online now:
http://www.unitedcampaign.org.uk/bill.php

The Lawful Industrial Action Bill is focused and fair. It will mean that
ordinary working people who have voted overwhelmingly in favour of
industrial action will not have their democratic will overruled on technical
legal grounds.

Speakers confirmed for the rally include United Campaign Chair and General
Secretary of the RMT, Bob Crow who said today:

"With the cuts battle set to intensify this autumn there is no doubt that
the Government and the employers will see the anti-union laws as an
important weapon in trying to choke off workplace resistance to attacks on
jobs and services.

Now is the time for the trade union movement to rally round and defend the
basic right to strike and the right to defend jobs, standards of living and
public services. John McDonnell's Private Members Bill is the focal point
for the union fight back against the anti-union laws"

Other speakers who have been announced are:

*	Jeremy Dear, NUJ
*	Maria Exall, CWU
*	Steve Gillan, POA
*	John Hendy QC
*	John McDonnell MP
*	Frances O'Grady, TUC
