Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill

The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill is one of the single largest threats to the protection of workers currently going through government. 

It is currently being debated in the Lord's and, as the IER has been watching its evolution from the beginning, we have now compiled all reports on the Bill in one place so you can follow it closely as well.

Growth and Infrastructure Bill

Clause 23 of the Growth and Infrastructure Bill legislates for the introduction of the government's shares-for-rights proposals. It was debated in the House of Commons yesterday and, after it was revealed only a tiny minority of the 209 responses to the government's consultation on the issue thought it was a good idea, the plans received tremendous criticism from MPs.

We will soon provide a detailed report on the Commons' reaction to the Clause.

New approach to consultation

The government's new approach to consultation, in which interested parties can in some cases be given just two weeks to respond to calls for evidence and invitations to comment, will be the focus of a meeting by the Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee next week (10/12/12).

Hundreds of our mailing list subscribers helped us in an email campaign to oppose the new approach in readiness of this meeting.

We will be reporting on the meeting as soon as we have access to the transcript.
