As the electorate go out to vote today, we pull together all the content on our Fact News Hub <http://ier.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=dabcc06cf3&e=71131c031b> : comparing party manifestos on workers' rights and putting forth our own recommendations for the next government.
Workers' rights has been a key political battleground this year after the emergence of the controversial "gig" economy, and exposes revealing poor working conditions at the warehouses and distribution centres of household names like Sports Direct, Amazon and JD Sports.
What's more, there have been repeated reports of squeezed incomes across the UK, backed up this week by further evidence from the LSE of an <http://ier.us12.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=feb4c9326f&e=71131c031b> "unprecedented" decline in living standards, as well as OECD figures showing the UK has seen the worst fall in real wages in the developed world <http://ier.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=52de4a39cf&e=71131c031b> , and GMB research revealing one in three workers are in insecure work <http://ier.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=9f64494c91&e=71131c031b>
