[IER] Taylor Review: An easy guide to all the recommendations

The Taylor Review was finally released this week and managed to run to 116 pages without offering any recommendations substantial enough to truly protect workers in the "gig" economy, as it claimed it would do. In fact, in some places it removed workers' rights and made conditions for vulnerable workers worse!
The IER has published a cheat sheet <http://ier.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=673a73a19c&e=71131c031b> containing all of Taylor's recommendations and comparing them to some of those we put forth as part of our Manifesto for Labour Law.

Elsewhere this week, the government introduced the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill <http://ier.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=a6d8dcab30&e=71131c031b> , otherwise known as the Great Repeal Bill.
The Bill offers no written protection for workers' rights and allows the government to make changes to laws originating in the EU without debating them in parliament for up to two years after Brexit <http://ier.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=8016bd3ff5&e=71131c031b> . It also states that the European Convention on Human Rights will not be brought into UK law <http://ier.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=b173e73142&e=71131c031b> .
It has been opposed by the Labour Party, and both Wales and Scotland have threatened to refuse legislative consent <http://ier.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=bcff377d4c&e=71131c031b> .
