Employment Law Update London 2019

***THE LIVERPOOL VERSION OF THIS EVENT HAS NOW SOLD OUT. BOOK NOW FOR LONDON, WHILE PLACES LAST!!!***

It's time again for the most popular Institute of Employment Rights conference of the year, at which we bring together leading lawyers, academics and campaigners from across the UK to update delegates on developments in labour law over the previous 12 months and to suggest how workers can be better protected.

The government has indicated support for the recommendations put forth in the Taylor Review, publishing its own 'Good Work Plan'. The Plan ostensibly serves to protect those working in the so-called 'gig economy' but has been widely criticised for failing to make broad changes to a deeply flawed system of employment law.

Due to the dominance of the Brexit debate in Parliament, however, primary legislation has gone by the way side, and so developments to labour law made in the courts have taken on even greater importance. Our experts at Old Square Chambers – authors of our Labour Law Highlights series – will catch delegates up on the most significant decisions of the year.

As well as these important topics, our experts will discuss a wide range of burning issues from workplace surveillance to international human rights.

Please be aware our Employment Law Updates historically sell out very quickly – book your seat in good time to avoid disappointment.

Chaired by Nerys Owen, Labour Research Department

Stuart Brittenden, Old Square Chambers - Case law overview 2019
