Trade unions mark International Women's Day

All over the world, trade unions have been marking International Women's Day, which takes place on the 8th of March every year. This year's theme was #BreakTheBias, with particpants encouraged to "imagine a gender equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination."

IER executive member Sarah Woolley, the first woman leader of the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU), wrote a fantastic piece in Tribune, describing the crucial role of women in the trade union movement – and why unions need to move on from the days they were seen as the preserve of men.
