Barefoot and Starving

I am about to set off by bus to my work at the University of
Edinburgh, where I am development director of the Centre for
Human Ecology.

Unusually, I am wearing my three piece suit, representative of 
conventionality, conformity, and the appearance of normality being
maintained in the face of wider reality.

I shall not, however, be wearing my shoes or socks.

I shall be carrying a small placard saying:

	       The Kurds

       Barefoot

       Starving
