Activities Coordinator
International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility
(INES)

The organisation

INES is an independent no-profit organisation concerned about the impact of
science and technology on society. INES was founded in 1991. INES has
member organisations all over the world as well as personal members. INES
works mainly through projects, initiated by members or by collaborative
organisations. Currently the most visible projects are the Network against
nuclear proliferation INESAP and the ethics network INESPE.

INES focuses on disarmament and international peace, ethics, justice and
sustainable development. INES is affiliated with the United Nations and
with UNESCO as a non-governmental organisation.

Job description

INES is looking for a dynamic and innovative coordinator of its activities.
The coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting projects within
the INES network, including fundraising and creating and tracking budgets.
S/he represents INES in joint projects with other organisations and liaises
with them. S/he supervises and trains volunteers and temporary staff
working for specific projects or events. The coordinator is also expected
to put forward ideas about new promising projects. S/he works under the
executive secretary who is based in Berlin, Germany in the central office
of the Network, and reports to the Chair and to the Executive Committee of
the Network in cooperation with the executive secretary. The coordinator
participates in the creation and maintenance of promotional materials such
as the INES Newsletter, the website contents and project-related materials.

Provided the coordinator has permanent access to sufficient means of
electronic communication, it is not necessary that S/he works at the
central office, presently located in Berlin. The position will be initially
filled for a period of two years (renewable) with a probation period of six
months.


Qualifications

* Innovative, self-motivated, paying attention to details, capable of
working independently.
* Excellent organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines.
* Experience in fundraising for non-profit organisations and in supervising
staff.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and good
skills in at least one other language.
* Computer literacy.
* Ability to travel for short periods.
* Experience of work in non-governmental organisations is desirable.
*  A scientific or engineering background: a degree or relevant experience
is a definitive plus.

Benefits

This is a part-time position. The salary will be 1200 Euros per month (gross).
