Many of our recent/ current activities have been focused on the COP21 climate
conference in Paris, and especially how it relates to recently announced UK
climate and security policies.


* A climate of insecurity

Dr Stuart Parkinson, SGR, looks at the possible role of climate change as a
cause of the Syrian war – and examines the implications for UK and
international climate and security policies.

* Messages for the Paris conference: The forgotten dimensions of climate change

Summaries and presentations from SGR's recent conference are now all online.
The two main themes were:
- Keeping 80% of fossil fuels in the ground;
- Climate change and military technology.
The main speakers included Prof Keith Barnham and Dr Philip Webber.

* 135 reasons not to replace Trident

Dr Philip Webber, SGR, reports on important UN discussions, ignored by the UK
media, which are critical for the upcoming decision on the replacement of
