Sharing your views on this subject has a real effect on others, so please take
part. The threat of climate breakdown is now recognised as endangering human
civilisation. We have science and scientists to thank for our understanding of
this challenge. In particular, the recent special report of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on what it will take to stay below
the 1.5 degree warming target concludes that, ‘rapid, far reaching and
unprecedented changes will be needed in all areas of society.’ Those shifts
embrace everything from big infrastructures which condition our available
choices, to how within that, we choose to live and behave. What changes would
you be likely to make in your day-to-day life in recognition of the climate
emergency?

This is a straw poll on responsible science and engineering for Scientists for
Global Responsibility (SGR). The SGR 2019 Responsible Science Conference will
be on the theme of 'Should Science Walk the Talk on Climate Breakdown?' where
