[Telecentres] Forum for Telecenters of Asia

Dear Telecenter Folks,

 

This is Shahid Uddin Akbar from Bangladesh and we are working in the field of ICT4D., specially establishing Telecenters in the rural areas.

 

Recently, we initiate a new idea to bring the Telecenters working in the Asian region in the same platform to exchange knowledge and experiences, and also to set some common goals to achieve together. This will be forum kind of thing like Asian Telecenter Forum (ATF). The forum will raise the voice of the local Telecenter initiatives of Asia and contribute to bridge the digital divide in the region in a practical manner.

 

We are discussing the issue with different groups and getting positive responses on the concept and now planning to organize a brainstorming session in the last part of December to discuss the detail issues of participation of countries, organizations and operational structure of the forum. We are also discussing the issues with Telecenter Leaders Forum and other international associations to make it more effective and participatory. 

 

As you all are involved in the Telecenter activities, I would appreciate if you can please share your opinion, scope to participate in the forum and comments on the same.
