The next V3 Power 'How To Build Your Own Wind Turbine' course will be
held at Hill Holt Wood on Fri 20th - Sun 22nd July.

Over the weekend course the group will build a 2.4m diameter turbine
from scratch using the designs published by Hugh Piggott of Scoraig

Course Description: July 20, 21, 22. The full cost is £200 per participant (sliding scale available, please contact V3 - see below - for details). The course begins at 7pm on the friday evening (although look to arrive 5 ish to set up tents and have dinner). Runs 9am - 9pm on the Saturday and 9 am to 4 pm on the Sunday. Participants will have hands-on experience carving blades, wiring copper coils, soldering stators, constructing the magnetic plates and welding the metal frame. Lectures will include in-depth knowledge of wind power and aerodynamic theory and includes course hand-outs. The final day involves erecting a working wind turbine (ideally the one built that weekend) and how to monitor its performance. The fee includes two nights camping and food. (if you don't want to camp then you must arrange your own accomodation, we can provide contacts for local bed and breakfasts). The subsequent course will be held on the 31, 1, 2 of September.
