After giving the peace prize to Obama, Nobel have tried to  make  
amends by giving the economics prize to Elinor Ostrom, a great  
academic defender of the commons and one of the main figures in the  
stand taken (mostly by anthropologists not economists)  against the  
pernicious Tragedy of the Commons doctrine propogated by Garret Hardin.
