Squatter-hating media campaign begins...

In the run-up to the proposals being published it looks like the media is
being engineered in advance of the political debate.
In fact, I think this news item deserves a complaint to the Beeb because it
gives the impression that new laws are required to remove squatters from
occupied residential premises, when in fact that's already unlawful under the
Criminal Law Act 1977. What the new proposals do is make squatting in
*unoccupied* buildings an offence, and that wasn't properly reflected in the
content of the report.
