INJUSTICE Secretary and UK Bilderberg convenor Ken Clarke said 
squatters were as bad as thieves just hours before protesters clashed 
with police near Parliament.
Some 15 people were arrested on Monday night after 150 demonstrators 
turned up to vent their anger at new anti-squatting laws.
Most of the protesters dispersed soon after but a breakaway group 
moved from Westminster to the Tate Modern gallery, where officers 
moved them on.
Mr Clarke said earlier: "I have always found it difficult to see the 
difference between taking somebody's car and taking somebody's home.
"Anyone who has suffered from the presence of squatters in their 
property knows the misery they can cause."
"Existing laws provide some safeguards but making squatting in 
residential buildings a criminal offence will provide rather greater 
protection in circumstances where the harm caused is most severe."
