CAT Timber Frame Building Course

The course will cover ecological timber-frame 
building methods through a series of practical 
and theoretical sessions. Using locally sourced 
sustainable timber participants will erect a 
small timber frame structure to become a permanent part of the CAT site.
The course is ideal for anyone planning their own timber frame structure.
The course will look at timber frame construction 
techniques such as post and beam. Methods will be 
demonstrated and discussed before participants 
begin on the self-build project which runs over the course of the week.
This course runs by a learn-by-doing ethos, and 
all practicals are consolidated through evening 
lectures, discussions and presentations where all 
areas of timber frame self- build are examined 
and your questions can be answered.


£600, £400 Concession

Please note: a £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.

The balance of the course fee is due two weeks before the start of the course.

Fees
We offer concessions rates where stated for some 
courses, concessions apply to unemployed or those in receipt of benefits.

Our course fees include VAT, full board 
accommodation, tuition and materials, unless otherwise stated.

Cancellation Policy
We regret that except in cases of illness 
supported by a doctor's note, we will make the following cancellation charges:
• More than six weeks before the course - half the fee is forfeit
• Less than four weeks before the course the full fee is forfeit

CAT reserves the right to cancel any courses. 
Should this be necessary, deposits and fees will 
be returned in full. CAT also reserves the right 
to modify the published programme.
