Hi
          all,

      Please
see the attached information about the Landworkers’ Alliance
          AGM and circulate widely
to your networks. The event is open to members of the LWA and
          membership will
be available on the door for people actively involved in
          producing food, fuel
          and fiber.

      The weekend is
          a chance to
meet other producers, learn more about the work of the
          Landworkers' Alliance
and La Via Campesina, get involved and have a say in the
          future of the
organisation. Highlights include speakers, debates, skill
          shares and workshops
alongside farm tours, elections, campaign updates and
          planning, plus fine
locally grown food and drinks, live music and dancing.

Where: We will be in
            central Manchester
at MERCi’s Bridge 5 mill. See the website for how to get
            there: www.merci.org.uk/drupal/node/1703

      When: The AGM will be
on Sunday the 16th November with a day of talks,
            workshops and
events and an evening of celebration with a ceilidh and
            party. On Monday 17th
we will visit some farms and market gardens in the Manchester
            region.

What is the plan? Arrive 10:30 for an 11am start on the 16th.
            We are preparing a
          day
of talks, discussions and workshops exploring
              the issues facing
small-scale producers and family farmers in the UK
              today and working on our
campaigns, actions and plans for the coming year.

      Speakers include David
            Handley on milk prices, mobilisation and Farmers for Action;
            The Kindling Trust
on co-operative supply chain innovations and supporting new
            entrants; and The
Landworkers’ Alliance on our vision and campaigns
          for small-holder agriculture and
          food sovereignty in the UK

From 5pm we will have music,
dancing, food and plenty of time to socialise. Rudimentary
            accommodation is
            available on request.

      On Monday the 17th
we will tidy up and head off for a couple of farm tours on
            market gardens in
            the Manchester
area. Transport will be available for those who need it.

How much does it cost? The AGM is free to members, and
membership will be available on the door
            at £25 for the year.
      Delicious food will be

available for the Sunday and breakfast on Monday for £10 or
            £5 if you are only
            staying for Sunday lunch

What do I need to bring? Just yourself, your friends, and your
ideas for building our movement in
2015. If you are sleeping bring a sleeping mat and sleeping
            bag.
      Spaces
          are limited so let
us know if you are coming, whether you are staying the night
          if you will have
spaces in a vehicle for others – landworkersalliance at riseup.net
