 <http://www.ier.org.uk/manifesto> Britain’s workers are amongst the most
insecure, unhappy and stressed workers in Europe. Successive UK governments
have eroded worker protections and removed their access to justice - leaving
employers free to adopt ever more exploitative employment practices.

The Institute of Employment Rights is a think tank for the labour movement
specialising in employment rights. We work tirelessly with our network of
experts to develop ideas for an alternative agenda on workers’ rights. Our
latest publication
<http://www.ier.org.uk/publications/manifesto-labour-law-towards-comprehensi
ve-revision-workers%E2%80%99-rights> ‘A Manifesto for Labour Law: towards a
comprehensive revision of workers’ rights’ was launched in June 2016 with
the assistance of John McDonnell and Ian Lavery. It represents IER’s
submission to Jeremy Corbyn’s  ‘Workplace 2020’ initiative. Since the launch
it has been welcomed as a blueprint for workers’ rights by John McDonnell
and supported by a growing number of trade unions. This is superb news, but
the battle of ideas isn’t over yet! We need to spread the message contained
in our Manifesto and show that an economy with trade unions at its heart is
one that will deliver social justice and economic efficiency.
