The government has been blamed <https://ier.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f121e48a8bb6d3101590c12d3&id=f1a4aaeee9&e=71131c031b>  for employers' failure to monitor the proportion of its workforce that are disabled, or to survey their experiences and progression in their careers.

The Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) campaign responded to new figures from charity Scope that fewer than 20% of employers tracked equality in terms of disability.

Speaking to the Morning Star earlier this week, a spokeswoman for the DPAC explained: "Given the horrific vilification of disabled people by the Tory government for the last nine years as skivers and scroungers it is difficult to know why businesses - who have no doubt internalised those negative messages - would now rush out and wish to employ disabled workers."
