This May Day, the Institute of Employment Rights expanded on its post-pandemic manifesto by recommending policy directions that would create a fairer post-pandemic UK.

With so many jobs lost during the crisis, increasing employment is an immediate priority, but our experts propose that quality is just as important as quantity when it comes to creating these new roles.

Investment should be made into creating jobs that are better, more fulfilling, sustainable and create a green economy.

Further, a new deal for workers must tackle inequality, include the restoration of collective bargaining, overhaul our rights at work, stamp out abuse, regrow the State, strengthen our democracy, control globalisation and implement the rule of law internationally.
